Audiences
Choose who a campaign reaches using ready-made smart audiences, saved audiences or an imported list.
An audience decides who a campaign is sent to. Whatever you choose, only guests who may receive marketing are included.
Audience types
When building a campaign, under Audience choose:
- Everyone who may be marketed to – your whole marketable list.
- A ready-made smart audience, for example:
- VIP guests, Regular guests, First-time guests, Returning guests, Frequent guests
- No visit in 30 days, No visit in 60 days, No visit in 90 days, No visit in 180 days, First visit, no return
- Birthday in 7 days, Birthday in 14 days, Birthday in 30 days
- first-visit anniversaries
- A saved audience – your own combination of rules.
- One imported list – only marketable guests from that import.
Save an audience
- Open Marketing → Campaigns and go to Saved audiences.
- Create one, choose its rules and save it with a clear name.
How many people it reaches
Who this reaches right now shows a count of marketable recipients. It's advisory: the exact list is fixed when you lock the campaign. Anyone who unsubscribes before sending is still left out.
VIP and Regular audiences use the same labels as the guest book. Being VIP or Regular never gives marketing permission.
Troubleshooting
- Count is 0 or very low: few guests in that group have given permission. Try Everyone who may be marketed to.
- Count changed after locking: it can't. The locked list is final, minus anyone who opted out since.
