Creating a campaign

Write a one-off marketing email step by step, with templates, the writing assistant, previews and locking.

A campaign is a one-off email, for example a new menu or a seasonal event.

Create the draft

  1. Open Marketing → Campaigns and choose New campaign, or Write a campaign from Autopilot.
  2. Give it an Internal name. Only your team sees this.
  3. Choose the Audience. See Audiences.
  4. Choose a template with Use this template. A template is only a starting point for the message. It never changes who receives it.
  5. Write the Subject line and Preview text, then edit the content. Use Add a block for text, buttons or images.
  6. Choose Save the draft. You'll see Draft saved.

Writing assistant

Write with AI drafts or rewrites text from a short description, such as "A quiet midweek dinner in November. Mention the new tasting menu."

  • Write a draft replaces the subject, preview text and all blocks.
  • Rewrite one passage changes only the part you choose.
  • Check every offer, date and price before using the wording. The assistant can get facts wrong.

Preview and test

  • Use the Email preview to see how it looks, including with a Preview guest name.
  • Send yourself a test copy. It only goes to your own confirmed email address.

An unsubscribe footer is added to every marketing email when it's sent.

Lock the campaign

Lock audience and message fixes the recipients and the message, and reserves the sends from your allowance. Save your latest changes first. After locking, the message can't be edited. Nothing is sent and none of your allowance is used until you lock.

Next: Sending and results.

Troubleshooting

  • "You have unsaved changes": save the draft before locking or testing.
  • Lock button greyed out: check the audience isn't empty and you have allowance left.
