Reconciling past bookings
Resolve bookings that were never closed during service, so visit history, no-shows and reports stay accurate.
Needs a manager or owner role.Last verified
During a busy service, some bookings are never marked as arrived, completed or no-show. ResRes lists them as Needs reconciliation so you can record what actually happened.
Who can do it
Everyone can see the list. Only owners and managers can resolve bookings. Other staff see "Ask an owner or manager to resolve this booking".
Find bookings to resolve
- The Needs reconciliation button at the top of the dashboard shows how many bookings are waiting, split into Current service and Earlier.
- An unresolved booking also shows a reconciliation marker in its details.
Resolve a booking
- Open the booking from the list.
- Under What happened?, choose one:
- They attended – records the guest dined, using the booking's scheduled times unless you adjust them.
- Complete booking – completes it with its recorded times.
- Party left now – completes it now and frees the table (for parties still shown as seated).
- Did not dine – came in but left without dining. Not a no-show, no fee and not a visit.
- The guest never came – records a no-show.
- Cancellation – the booking was called off. Choose a reason.
- Add an optional note and confirm. Nothing changes until you confirm.
The guest isn't emailed about this cleanup.
Troubleshooting
- "Arrival was a mistake": use Correct booking to undo the arrival.
- "Nothing left to resolve": someone else already resolved it.
- List unavailable: wait a moment and try again. Nothing has been lost.
