Pacing

Limit how many guests can arrive in each time window so the kitchen and floor aren't overloaded.

Pacing limits how many guests can arrive in each time window, even when tables are free. Use it to stop everyone arriving at 19:30 at once.

Before you start

  • Your plan must include cover pacing controls.
  • Only owners and managers can change pacing limits.

Add a pacing limit

  1. Open Setup and go to Pacing limits.
  2. Choose Add pacing limit.
  3. Under Applies to, choose Whole location (default) or a specific service.
  4. Set the Arrival window (minutes), for example 15.
  5. Set Most guests per window, for example 20.
  6. Choose Save pacing limit.

How limits combine

  • A service limit replaces the location default for that service.
  • Only one limit can be switched on per scope.
  • What each service uses shows which limit applies where.

Pacing works alongside your tables. A time is only offered if there's a free table and room in the pacing window.

Troubleshooting

  • Times disappearing even though tables are free: a pacing limit is probably full. Check No times available.
  • Upgrade notice: pacing isn't in your plan. Existing limits stay in force and remain visible.
  • Phone bookings: staff bookings follow the same rules.
