Troubleshooting: someone can't see a section

Why a team member can't see a page, button or setting, whether it's their role, location access or your plan, and how to fix it.

Depends on your plan — see PricingLast verified

When something is missing, there are three usual reasons: role, location access or plan.

1. Role

Some sections are for owners and managers only. Staff don't see them at all:

Section or actionWho can use it
Changing Setup and most SettingsOwners and managers
Reports, Marketing, GroupOwners and managers
Guest import, export and mergingOwners and managers
Refunds, waivers, booking corrections, reconciliation, optimise seatingOwners and managers
Subscription, text credits, Marketing plan, adding locations and brandsAccount owner

Fix: an owner or manager can change the person's role in Settings → Team. See Team and roles.

2. Location access

A team member only sees the locations they've been given.

Fix: check the location selector at the top of the dashboard. An owner or manager can update Locations they can work in in Settings → Team.

3. Plan

If a section shows an upgrade notice ("Ask an owner of this account to change the plan"), the location's plan doesn't include it. Examples: advanced waitlist, Standby, pacing, deposits, advanced guest tools, Group reports.

Fix: the account owner can change the plan in Settings → Subscription. See Subscription and plans.

4. Something switched off

Some buttons appear only when a setting is on. For example, Offer table needs Timed table offers on, and Send table-ready SMS needs text alerts on. A greyed-out button usually shows the reason next to it.

Troubleshooting checklist

  1. Refresh the page and check the selected location.
  2. Ask the person to sign out and back in after a role change.
  3. Still missing? Contact Support with the page name and the person's role. Never share passwords.
